Heritage Quest and Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps
Since January 2006 the Polk County Library Cooperative has made it possible for library card holders to use the Heritage Quest and Sanborn Fire Insurance Map resources at no charge. Additionally, patrons were able to access these resources from home using their own internet connections.
Regrettably, due to tax reductions and budget cuts these two fine resources were not renewed for 2009. Instead, those same funds are being used to provide our new online resources for the Polk County Historical & Genealogical Library. We are thankful to the members of the Polk County Library Cooperative for this support.
On a good note, the genealogical resource Ancestry Library Edition is still available for patrons to use free of charge by simply visiting a public library within Polk County. Of course it's also available at this library....along with the friendly service and expert assistance of the library staff. Come see us soon!
